• Special NeuroTinker Grant to help fund FUN 2017 Conference Attendance

    During the pre-workshop laboratory experience, one of the intensive lab experiences will be learning to work with NeuroBytes, a cool hardware-based system for student exploration of neural networks.  NeuroBytes are being developed by long-time FUN member Joe Burdo.

    Backyard Brains will be hosting 8 undergraduates in their Ann Arbor headquarters to develop DIY versions of advanced neuroscience research projects.  These are paid positions for 10w. Students will be mentored by neuroscientists and engineers to develop their own tools for their research project.  Application Deadline is March 13, 2017.

    The Department of Biology invites applications for a 2-year visiting faculty position at the assistant professor level, beginning September 2017. Teaching responsibilities for the first year include an intermediate-level neurobiology course with weekly laboratories and an advanced seminar with weekly laboratories in an area of neuroscience. In the second year, teaching responsibilities include an intermediate level course in animal physiology with weekly laboratories, and participation in the department’s team-taught introductory course in organismal and population biology.

    Hi all. The Biological and Ecological Sciences Coalition (BESC) is hosting a Congressional Visits Day in Washington D.C. on April 25-26, 2017. The first day of the event is a training program that will prepare participants for meetings with congressional offices. It will include presentations on the federal budget and effective communication with policymakers.
