Position Summary |
The Department of Psychology and Neuroscience at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill invites applications for a full-time (9 mos.) fixed-term Teaching Assistant Professor with a three-year contract which is renewable. Preferred start date is January 1, 2020. Teaching faculty in the department typically teach three courses per semester for a total of six courses each academic year. Additionally, this position offers excellent career advancement opportunities including promotion to Teaching Associate Professor and Teaching Professor. |
Educational Requirements |
Candidates must have a Ph.D. in Psychology or Neuroscience and at least 1 year experience teaching in an academic environment as the instructor of record. |
Qualifications and Experience |
We are seeking an instructor with a specialty in neuroscience and demonstrated excellence in undergraduate education. We are particularly interested in individuals with expertise in the cellular and molecular processes of the brain related to normal and abnormal behavior. Additionally, there is the possibility of teaching a neuroscience laboratory course in the applicant’s area of expertise. This position would build upon the existing strengths in teaching and research of our faculty and highlight the technologically-sophisticated nature of the field of neuroscience. |
